For Providers
HIP offers a number of Medicare Advantage Plans. These plans, sometimes called "Part C," provide all of a member's Part A (hospital coverage) and Part B (optional medical coverage) coverage and offer extra benefits too. These extra benefits include, but are not limited to, vision, dental, hearing, and preventive services, like annual physicals. In addition, some of the HIP Medicare HMO plans include Part D, prescription drug coverage.
HIP Medicare HMO includes the following Medicare Advantage plans:
HIP VIP (HMO) Plans - These are Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) where members receive care through the participating doctors and hospitals in HIP broad network providers. These plans are a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) type plan and are offered both with, and without Part D (prescription drug coverage).
HIP VIP Dual(HMO) and HIP VIP Medicaid Advantage(HMO) Plan - Our Custom 1 Plan offers a Special Needs Plan for members receiving some assistance of the State. HIP VIP Medicaid Advantage(HMO) member must be receiving Full Medicaid Benefits.
HIP PDP Prescription Drug Plans - This is a prescription drug plan that is available to prospects in the state of New York.
The HIP Medicare Advantage Network
HIP Medicare Advantage service area includes the following counties in New York: New York, Bronx, Kings, Queens, Richmond, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester.
HIP, in coordination with participating providers, will maintain and monitor its network of participating providers to ensure that members have adequate access to PCPs, specialists, hospitals, and other health care providers, and that their care needs may be met.
Members of the HIP VIP Medicare Advantage plans (HMO Plans) may see any Medicare-approved provider within the HIP network.
