How Do I Enroll?
Here's 4 ways to enroll in a HIP Medicare Plan:
- Call us toll-free at 1-800-447-9169 Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Extended hours 11/15-3/1, 8:00 am-8:00 pm (TTY/TDD users, 1-888-447-4833 Monday-Friday 8:30 am-5:00 pm) to:
- Schedule an in-home appointment with a HIP Sales Representative who will answer your questions and assist you with completing the enrollment application.
- Reserve a seat for you at one of our informational seminars in your area, where you can find out more about our HIP Medicare HMO Plans and a HIP Sales Representative will be present and can assist you with completing your enrollment application. For accommodations of persons with special needs, contact us at the toll-free number listed above.
- Request an enrollment kit.
Enroll Online with us. Medicare beneficiaries may enroll directly with us on this Web site by selecting the Enroll Now button below.
Enroll Online with CMS. Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in a HIP Medicare HMO plan through the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Online Enrollment Center.

Medicare beneficiaries may enroll in a HIP Medicare HMO plan over the phone by calling us toll free at 1-800-447-9169 (or for TTY/TDD users: 1-888-447-4833).
Typically, you may enroll in a Medicare Advantage plan during the annual enrollment period between November 15 and December 31 of each year. In addition, you can join a Medicare Advantage plan during the open enrollment period between January 1 and March 31 of each year, as long as you do not change your prescription drug coverage. Additionally, there are exceptions that may allow you to enroll in a Medicare plan outside of these periods. Please complete the Attestation of Eligibility for an Enrollment Period form to see if you are eligible for an Enrollment Period.

If you are enrolling in HIP Medicaid Advantage (HMO), a plan designed specifically for Medicare beneficiaries with full Medicaid benefits, you will also need to complete a Medicaid Advantage Form and mail it in with your enrollment application.

HIP offers a Direct Debit program making it easier to pay your monthly premium payment. Each month HIP deducts your premium directly from your bank account. There are no monthly premium invoices and no premium checks to write. The Direct Debit program saves you time, paperwork and the worry that you will forget to pay your premium. If you would like to sign up for the Direct Debit program, please complete the Direct Debit Program Application Form Form and mail it in with your enrollment application.
