PARTICIPATING URGENT CARE CENTERS
When you need to see a doctor after office hours and on weekends for non-emergency care, such as a painful sore throat or other minor medical conditions, you may visit one of the participating urgent care centers for treatment.
Please note that there are no referrals needed to visit a participating urgent care center. We recommend you use urgent care centers when you are in the HIP service area rather than visiting the emergency room to reduce your copayments and significantly reduce your waiting times. Of course, if you feel you have a medical emergency, you would still call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Your Member Handbook will help you understand what constitutes an emergency.
