HIP’s Public Statement on the WTC Tragedy

HIP Health Plan of New York and its 1,800 employees share in the grief that has engulfed our city, state and nation. Our prayers and profound sympathy go to the victims of the tragedy at the World Trade Center, including the sacrifice made by New York City’s firefighters, police officers and EMS personnel. We are no less mindful of their families, friends and colleagues.

In lasting tribute to the victims, we must now demonstrate that we are a strong, resilient nation. Led by New York, America can begin that process by returning to normal, everyday activity.

HIP is the city’s largest HMO and has been an integral part of New York for decades. We are up and running and continuing to serve our nearly 800,000 members in the metropolitan area. And we will do everything we can for our members and to help in the healing and rebuilding of the city we love.
